@Travis after some digging from various sources, the servers are in Kansas, and the companies running the servers do in fact go back to work on monday as you stated i suspect around 1pm EST which is my timezone and noon in theirs, the servers might be back up. the trolling of many in this thread however is counter productive.

I hope that some lawyer will take charge of starting a class action against the company that manages 3DXCHAT because we paid for a service that is not provided for EXCLUSIVE FAULT of the incompetent technicians of that company. Asking some money for a service and not predicting defaults or cyber attacks is tantamount to defrauding customers. The incompetence of the technicians of this company is also evident to a newbie since after 24 hours of lockdown, the service has not been restarted on any backup server or moved (if under DDOS attack) on a new server farm with a different ip (they put the useless CLOUDFLARE filter that protects ONLY from WEB access through a CATCH while it certainly does not stop a DDOS based on FLOOD to the ip of the chat server). They're ridiculous.

Apparently we are entrusting our money to a bunch of incompetents who have only one server in one server farm and who think they can stop a DDOS against the server by simply filtering WEB access via CLOUDFLARE. They must modify the management program so that it can be used on a hub server, with hidden ip without direct access by users to which they can connect at least 5 chat servers, located in as many different server farms. In this way, if one of the 5 servers is attacked, users can be redirected to the rejoin to the other servers. 1 hub server (no user access) - 4/5 host servers (with user access) The technicians at 3dXCHAT are really incompetent and probably know nothing about what goes on in the internet undeground. It would be fun if we didn't pay all that money for a chat service that does NOT exist because it is run by INCOMPETENT technicians.

I know 3dx isn't perfect, and still needs work. But during this pandemic especially it's the only way many people can socialize with their friends. I also agree that the updates are sparse at times (Five years in game, and can remember getting 3 updates a year) but that part has significantly improved in the last 2 years. The main problem is a tiny and mostly inexperienced team coupled by a player base that is at times very toxic and unrealistic in their expectations of a game with less than 5 coders working on it. That being said, I am sure that the next update will be similar to the most recent one, which was massive by 3DX standards.

Someone will say that important companies like Twitter, ebay etc. have been attacked in the past by DDos but i remind you that no large company that provides online game (IGG among all) never suffers a lockdown of hours and hours, and the why is very simple, they run the system on many servers simultaneously linked together through a round robin that sends the user to the server with the best response to ping. It is easy to attack a single server in DDos much more difficult to do so if the servers are 5 or 10 coordinated by a mother server that does not allow access and therefore hides its ip. A hacker can attack what he can find or know, otherwise his attack is ineffective. I hope that the company that manages the 3dxchat platform will fire all the technicians present today and replace them with others who really know the underground internet world.

Does anyone know why the server is down

Still down, this sucks for people like myself that are completely on lockdown, got so bad i logged into RLC ffs. I don't see why they don't simply turn the servers off, do some bug fixes, and by the time they are done, the DDoS folks will have moved on. But not my chatroom to run.

They shut down the server to protect us from Covid-19.

This is why devs don't update or bother doing anything with 3dxchat they make a fun game for people and all everyone does is complain.Personaly I like the game the way it is and I wouldn't be surprised if the creators end up shutting it down due to the endless salt that flys through the servers.Hope you all stay safe and rejoin soon.
